Free 2 Teach is committed to easing the personal financial burden of teachers by providing free resources for their classrooms and students. Our Free Store offers these essential supplies at no cost to the incredible full-time classroom teachers, educators and staff who impact children in Huntsville City, Madison County and Madison City public school systems.
Students need supplies to learn. Teachers need tools to teach. We are the store that connects our teachers with these essential tools and supplies, all for free.
The Shopping Experience
Since opening our doors in January 2013, we have given away over $9 million in resources and supplies to our public school teachers. Each time a teacher shops, they leave the store with an average of $520 in classroom resources and educational tools.
We regularly receive new shipments of great items for you to use in your classroom and to pass on to your students. These items include traditional school supplies, office supplies, math and science resources, craft items, room décor, books, furniture and more. All these are donated and funded by our community, and all of these are free to you!

TEACHER SHOPPING FAQ
We support full-time teachers and staff from Huntsville City, Madison City, and Madison County public schools. Our goal is to ensure that every child has the resources and materials they need to succeed and we want to ensure that the adults who work with them are equipped to provide these without spending out of pocket. We request that when you shop, you gather the supplies that you need for the students who you work with directly. Thank you!
Staff Eligibility
The store is open to full-time educators and staff who work with our children in our schools. You must have a @hsv-k12.org; @madison.k12.al.us; or @mcssk12.org email address to make an account. Positions able to shop with us are listed below. (Please reach out to info@free2teach.org if you do not see your role listed.)

No, as an organization, our mission is to support children in our public schools from pre-K through High School in our three public school systems. Our funding structure and charter as an organization is founded on addressing the needs in our public school system. Thank you for understanding!
Yes. Before you can schedule your first visit, you must register to shop at www.free2teach.org/teacher using your school email address. Click on the Teacher tab and then on the “Sign Up To Shop” button. After you register, you will receive your username and password via email. Please note that your username and password are case sensitive. You can then sign up for a shopping slot based on availability.
You only need to register once. However, you must schedule an appointment every time you want to shop. We currently are not able to accommodate walk-in shoppers.

Each time you check-in for your scheduled visit, you will receive a shopping list. The list will have limits on certain items and categories of items. The limits are subject to change based on inventory fluctuations.

Shopping is by appointment only. Shopping hours are Tuesday & Thursday, 3:00pm-6:00pm, and the first Saturday of each month from 8:00am-12:00pm.
Shopping hours end at the close of the school year. We will open again for teacher shopping mid-July. The month of June and first part of July will be used to prepare the store for the new school year.
