At Free 2 Teach, we support teachers in their work to create joyful, positive classroom environments where every student can learn and thrive. That’s why we’re proud to launch our newest program: Free 2 Play, a joyful extension of our mission that equips educators with the tools they need to bring play into the heart of learning.
Why Play Matters
Research shows that play is a powerful driver of learning. It supports social-emotional development, builds executive functioning skills, encourages creativity, and deepens content understanding. The number one request on our 24-25 Teacher Survey was more hands-on materials like games, sensory items and equipment to meet the needs of all students.
Free 2 Play is a program designed to bring the community together to meet these needs.
What Free 2 Play Provides
Through this new initiative, we collect and distribute high-quality, gently used and new items such as:
- Gently used sports equipment (balls, bats, nets, racquets)
- Gently used toys, puzzles, games, stuffed animals
- Alternative seating (bean bags, wobble chairs, small stools)
- Gently used musical instruments, music stands, music books
These resources are distributed through our teacher free store and directly support educators in their efforts to make learning more active, meaningful, and joyful. For more information on making a donation at Free 2 Teach head to our Donate Supplies page.
Growing Through Partnerships
Free 2 Play is a program designed for partnership. We are excited to work with your group to source gently used and new sports equipment, musical instruments, seating, games, stuffed animals and more. By working together, we can expand and extend this program to ensure teachers across 113 schools have the tools they need for joyful, playful learning.
How You Can Help
Free 2 Play thrives on community support. Here’s how you can get involved:
