Free 2 Teach Fellowship

Training the Next Generation of Nonprofit Leaders

About the Program

Our Fellows will gain valuable, broad experience while supporting the mission of Free 2 Teach.

The Free 2 Teach Fellowship integrates the day-to-day, on-the-ground work of nonprofit program management with training on the overall strategic opportunities of nonprofit leadership. Our Fellows will gain valuable, broad experience while supporting the mission of Free 2 Teach. We seek to introduce our Fellows to the issues and challenges affecting philanthropy and nonprofit organizations with a goal to develop the next generation of nonprofit leaders and social innovators.

Our Goal

Our goal is that our Fellows experience personal growth, new skills and unforgettable leadership experiences so that no matter where they lead in roles throughout their life, they will understand the vital impact that local, community nonprofits make as they seek to solve problems and make a difference across our communities.

I’ve always had an interest in working in the nonprofit world, and when I learned about Free 2 Teach’s mission I was immediately interested. As Program Coordinator, I look forward to working with the volunteer program and helping to run our teacher shops, as well as managing the Free 2 Teach inventory. I’m also thrilled to begin as a Free 2 Teach Fellow, where I will attend meetings with our Executive Director and meet others in the Huntsville community. I’m very excited to start this chapter of my career at Free 2 Teach!

Free 2 Teach Fellow

Past Fellows

“I knew I wanted to work for a nonprofit with a real heart for the people it serves. I love the fact that all the people here really care about teachers and the children they teach. I completely fell in love with this organization when I learned about all the good it does for young adults with special needs, helping them to get valuable work experience to aid in them getting jobs to become more independent. I am so thankful to have found Free 2 Teach and I am thankful for my time there. I learned so much about leadership and about being passionate about this work. I take so many lessons with me to my next role as the Outdoor Education Program Specialist at ASCCA.”
