Morgan County, August 2026 – We’re so excited to announce today that we are expanding our operation to Morgan County thanks to funding and partnership with Senator Arthur Orr, who is providing community service grant funds to fully open our organization’s teacher resource center to serve all teachers and school staff in Morgan County Schools, Decatur City Schools and Hartselle City Schools.
The expansion will extend access to Free 2 Teach’s free resources and support to educators across an additional 45 public schools, for a total reach of 158 public schools across eight public school systems, open year-round to more than 6,000 educators working with nearly 97,000 children.
“Free 2 Teach has built a powerful model that brings community resources directly into the hands of educators and helps teachers make their classroom dollars go further,” said Senator Arthur Orr. “I’m proud to support its expansion into Morgan County and the tremendous work already happening across our schools. This is a practical investment in our teachers, our students and the future of our communities.”
Our organization, co-founded in 2011 by Eula Battle, has served Madison County since its inception, and expanded to Limestone County in February of 2025.
“Senator Orr has been a longtime supporter of education across our state and our region,” said Free 2 Teach CEO Alison Kling. “This significant grant funding is a continuation of his powerful commitment to educators. We are so honored and excited to serve this incredible community and support the amazing work already happening in schools across Morgan County.”
In September, we will hold welcome events across Morgan County’s three public school systems, to connect with educators alongside Senator Orr, give out welcome bags filled with supplies, and share how educators can register to start shopping at our free store in Huntsville in October.
Events for Morgan County public school teachers and school staff are as follows:
Hartselle City Schools: September 17 at 4 p.m. at The Burleson Center
Decatur City Schools: September 18 at 4 p.m. at the Decatur Farmers Market
Morgan County Schools: September 23 at 4 p.m. at Priceville Event Center
All teachers and school staff are welcome to attend their district’s Free 2 Teach Welcome Event and Pop-Up Supply Shop. Advance registration is not required; however, educators are encouraged to sign up through free2teach.org to help the Free 2 Teach team plan for attendance and supplies. Teachers and school staff should bring their school badge or identification to the event.
Beginning in October, teachers and school staff across all three public school systems will be able to register for shopping appointments at Free 2 Teach’s Huntsville resource center and shop for free classroom supplies and resources throughout the school year.
We operate with a vision to empower teachers with the tools they need to ensure every child has access to an excellent education. Our Huntsville resource center is open 11 months of the year, and public school teachers and school staff can shop for free every month. Since our founding, Free 2 Teach has distributed more than $17 million in supplies.
